| Fireface 800 or Mackie 1200F? As far as AD/DA they are close and Mackie probably has better Pres and more features. But, What I need is something that can handle 60-80 stereo tracks + the plup-ins like a PCI without getting choked up. I’ve already tried the Presonus Firestudio and Echo Audiofire12. Thanks! |

| Easy... RME Fireface 800 At least if you need it right away. The Mackie 1200F was annouceed well over a year and a half ago but it is still VAPORWARE. At Mackie's forum some guy from Mackie wrote they are doing their best to get the 1200F out in May. But he didn't mention wich year. So you can wait and see if it is true or buy something you can use right away. ![]() |

| The Mackie doesn't exist so yeah...no brainer the RME will be a better choice between the two. But you seem to be saying you want a PCI based system that will run plugs? Creamware Scope and SSL Mixpander are two that come to mind. War

| If you are not on a laptop get the RME 96/52 with some external converters to run into it .. such as the RME ADI-8 Pro.. or the Onyx 800r, etc. That way you can run Onyx/RME converters/pre with a pci system. Otherwise just go with the Fireface. |
