| Which monitor? Hello there, I'm planning to buy a pair of monitor speakers. As a student my budget is pretty limited (+- 400 Euros). My productions are mainly electronic dance music. Unfortunately there's only a small shop selling studio equipment in my area and I cannot test all. So far the following speakers are in my list: Samson Rubicon 6A (my favorite so far, read a couple of good reviews about it) Tapco S8 Fostex PM-1 MKII Can you recommend one of these monitors? Pro & Contra? (Please don't advice me to save money for better ones, that's out of sight for the next time.) :) |

| European huh? Well I don't know how they cost in Europe, but united kingdom stuff may be cheaper in europe than stuff that is manufactured through U.S. Corporation. Tannoy, and wharfedale are two brands I'd look into, if your european. Tannoy Reveal 5A's at Gear 4 music cost around 320 Euros this is much cheaper than the U.S price of 700$, and they hold there own with in this price bracket in the states. It would smoke most of the other options you listed which are in the under 500$ class of near fields in the U.S.

| I've only heard the Tapco S8 in your list, and would not suggest them. They've got a big bottom, kind of a scooped mid thing...I don't really dig too much. I agree the Reveal 5A would kill if you can afford it. Also, the Yamaha HS80M are quite nice in their price range and are far superior to those TAPCO S8. War
