Thanks War... I wont be changing my order, i'm sticking with the SE3s, they sound slightly more realistic on the acoustic than the AT450s IMO (which sound a wee bit "plastic").
I need versatility from my mics!

do you happen, to have soundfiles of akg451 vs. at450´s.....would be very interesting....

I prefer the SE3 on acoustic also, by far. The ATM450 is an excellent drum mic though in my opinion, close mic'ing and overhead. The SE3 are more versatile though.

Bringing back an old thread, but can anyone compare the 181 to the atm450s. I do live work and i need a side address overhead like this. I like the sound of audio technica condensers, I have always found them to be precise in the high frequencies, but not harsh. What are these two like against each other.

For live work, the ATM450 is a dream. Small, robust, light ... and is sounds great on OH.

The 181 may be great, but with the added weight and the removable (lose-able) capsules, I'd be leery. But, if you get a pair, let us know how they work.
