Modded Digi 002r or Apogee Mini-me?

Heard great things about both. About to pull the trigger on.......any ideas??? One or two inputs, mainly vocals and acoustic guitar.

Or maybe jump into the next level of pres, Gyraf, Vintage Design, API, Great River, etc?

do you need to run ProTools?

then get a digi interface....

if not, then consider apogee

Should've clarified....been running the 002r for close to two years but want to upgrade the sound, if ya know what I mean. BL says they can mod mine while I'm away on vacation. It's $200-300 cheaper than a Mini-Me, though I heard great things about it....

I would be leaning more on deciding whether to get the
Apogee or a high-end mic-pre.
Your voice, mic(s) and type of music you primarily record
should determine which mic-pre. Apogee has a nice clean sound.
DAV, BA, Germ, Vintech, GR,...

The BLA mod though puts in really good pre's for my ears. One's that I use instead higher end pres. They are clear and smooth with a bit of depth. For bass and electric guitar I get really good punchy, clear signals...They really do miraculous things to the unit

I don't know the mod you're talking about, but I have a Minime and I really like what it did to the sound of my DAW. Don't discount the better clock and converters. The pres aren't on the level of some highend pres, but are nicer than many mid level pres.
