That is your first experiment, once you've got the cable harness for the Big Knob hooked up!

Which amp do I like best on which speakers?

Have fun.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that the Crown sounded good.

as a tech i would suggest staying away from that particular crown... i own several others though nuthin wrong with them as a brand ... the 150's though are hard to get back up and running if you have problems... parts availability issues...

Adcom

The Bystons are good, but a bit overpriced.

amps..

I personally have a d-150 on my ns-10s in my studio and it is FINE for the use!!.

I also own a Bryston 4bst for my Urei monitors and BRYSTON AMPS ARE PHENOMENAL!!!

If u are that picky, try searching out a Bryston 3b or 3bst on ebay or audiogon, you wi ll not be disappointed!!!

I had my Crown D-150 paired up with some Tannoy 6.5 mkII monitors and I could never get my mixes to translate that well. I never knew which component to blame...

I know this is an old thread but I just got a crown d150a for my ns10's. supposed to replace my Alesis RS-300. Is it an upgrade? I paid $110 for it. Still have my Alesis. Haven't hooked up the crown yet. I did hear it at the store and it seemed pretty solid!! What do you guys think? Also, how many watts is this thing? I keep seeing different answers on that

The one in the model looks different from mine. I heard it in the store and it wasn't bad at all. The ns-10m says 150 watts. If these are only 75 watts why are people still using them on the yammies?

Just plugged up the amp and checked out a mix I had been working on. Definitely a night and day difference!! Doesn't get as loud as the Alesis but I don't need it to. Sounds waaaay clearer. My poor ns-10's have been dealing with the Alesis all this time!! definitely hear everything so much better. I'm a happy camper!!!!

I know this might sound a bit cliché but the answer is what ever sounds good to you, I've personally live them with either a Hafler or Yamaha amp to power them. Good luck.

A good design it timeless. I have an ancient BGW 240-D for my auratones, 125wpc and a sweet sound! I retired it from live monitor power when much lighter a powerful QSCs came into my life. It's heavy but who cares when it sits in the studio! Has those cool chickenhead knobs, too, calibtrated by dBs.

The knobs on the D-150 are nice looking too.

I don't even know what amp that is!!! I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to different amps. I'm still kinda learning. With me I don't really care about what's old or new. Only thing that EVER matters is does it sound good!!!' I think I do want some auratones. When I get some I'm gona look up your amp!!

BGW | About BGW

My amp is so old it isn't even listed on that site. Buit it does sound very good!
