Thread Starter | Wanted - VERY SMALL record/playback device
My sister is an art teacher, and a couple of her students want to include on-demand music in their sculpture pieces. Apparently quality is not a great concern, but size is (1"x1" was mentioned as an ideal size). They want to store about 1 minute of music on this thing and be able to play it back when a button is pressed. Taking greeting cards, the old "YakBak" toys, Singing Bass novelty things, etc ... anyone have a lead on where I might find such a device? thanks.

Like a little chip with a button on it, and some type of peizo? Im not sure where you could find those in little standalone pieces, but one things for sure, if you did you would probably have to buy them in huge bulk.......not just a few dozen. She should get a small digital recorder. The ones that look like cell phones, and log the presentations by number. They would all have to use the same thing to record their own piece, but it would work. If she wants to have all separate little pieces on each display to press and hear something, thats different...but considering the sound of those cards and stuffed animals, they would be better off with no sound at all!! |

go to radioshack and look around by the toys and stuff. I don't remember what the sample time is but they carry some little sampler. it's just the guts with no enclosure but that might be better for what you want it for. if I remember they were ~$10

I found a couple of things (one of them at radio shack) - the upper limit is 20 sec. That might be enough - I'll have to check with Sis. www.theresezemlin.com |

| keychain recorder
There are a bunch of little keychain reminders that seem to be exactly what you're looking for, problem is, most of them don't say how long the record time is. Here's an example (says it has 20 secs), but I've seen a couple: http://apparel.drleonards.com/Appare...nder/38293.cfm You may want to search for memory minder or some other things. hope that helps.
