Thread Starter | Clocking question: Mackie 800R ADAT out -> Scope Home ADAT card
I've purchased the ADAT expansion for my Creamware Home card which has 4 ADAT lightpipe ports on it: http://www.nusystems.co.uk/images/pr....II.EX.291.jpg I have decided to buy a Mackie 800R 8x preamp with ADAT out: http://www.luckymusic.com/_prod/29714.jpg The 800R has the ADAT out so I can lightpipe the audio into my ADAT expansion which is all cool but what I want to know is... Do I need to clock the Mackie 800R from my Creamware care (or vice versa) so they stay in sync? or does the 800R just spit the audio down the ADAT lightpipe and into the Creamware and I only really need to worry about clocking if I have lots more digital outboard? If I do need a BNC sync plate for my Creamware card it's another purchase.. the Sync Plate: http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/shop_i...fd97dfa18f.jpg cheers! |

O don't know about the Creamware stuff, but in my Motu 828, I just set it to use the optical in (adat) as the clock source, and it works fine. I would expect it would work similarly.
