Questions about the newer C1

I'm planning on picking up a Studio Projects C1 very shortly. A friend told me that the newer one (with the SP logo) sounds alot different than the older model (studio projects c1 in black lettering)

I use the older model at the recording studio I work at to track my friend's vocals. He sounds great through it, so it's important that I can maintain that sound if I purchase my own.

Let me know what you think, if possible I'd love to hear a sample audio comparison if someone owns both versions.
