just wondering does anyone know a thing or two about PA's. I sing in a band and we need a PA as the last one we were using wasn't ours. We rehearse in a small enough room with drums, 2 guitars and bass. Think the Strokes or the Walkmen...or BRMC something along those lines. We just need the PA for 1 or 2 vocal mics max, never be gigging with it or anything as most of the places we play have their own house PA.
What kind of wattage should we be thinking? I found this set on an internet store we buy most of our gear from: SUPERLUX SP108 - Thomann Irish Cyberstore
Its 300 watt (2 x 150). Its basically an exact copy of the Yamaha Stagepas 300 set. Dont let the name Superlux through you off as i have a 20 quid pair of studio headphones from them and they sound pretty decent. It also comes with a 3 year warranty just incase. It comes with 8" speakers but It has floor monitor extension ports so could I even get a powered speaker if the volume isn't in my ears enough...like this 120watt active monitor?: THE BOX MA120 MK II - Thomann Irish Cyberstore
I'n not really too sure though so I need some help....would this setup be loud enough for this kind of application? Keep in mind our budget isnt very high. Thanks in advance.
