| Gear addict | That might not be of much help, but I think "60's reggae guitar" points to "whatever guitar was available to the guitarist!" Also, 60's reggae sounds very old, you can probably get that sound from anything. You can't go wrong with a Strat/Fender amp combo I think. If you're just after the "chaka" sound (like Bob's Stir it up), make sure you get a wah-wah pedal, leave it on, and don't bother about the chords too much. You might wanna look at the band The Slackers, they do a lot of old reggae/ska. Maybe you could see what they use on some pics. |

| I'm really trying to hit that Desmond Dekker '007' style sound, but since he was just a singer, there's not much on record as to what his bandmates played on or through for that matter. I have no idea whether it's Fender, Danelectro, Gibson ??? Sears, RCA, Telefunken, ?? Quote:
