What amp speaker should I get? Hi everybody, I have a Music Man "one-twenty" but my speaker situation is in dire need of replacement. I also need to buy a reverb pedal, or a combo with both that would be suitable for a professional recording situation. I'm trying to go for a really vintage tone. When I say vintage I mean like Desmond Dekker, Link Wray vintage. If y'all know of any speaker/amp/pedals that could help me attain this vibe, I'd be grateful. Thanks!

If you liked the sound of the Music Man amp before the speakers blew, why not just replace the speakers? And if you DIDN'T like the sound of it and you want something else, I think you'll still have to replace the speakers if you want to get decent money for it when you sell it. DP

Well, the speakers are seperate. The Music Man is really nice. I'm currently using the reverb in my Orange practice amp as my "reverb". As a happy accideny, it actually grounds the Music Man which was needed desperately before. I would like to just get one big speaker or 2x12s if possible. Something easier to control for recording. However, the 4x12's sounds flabby. Plus on caster keeps coming off. It's a real piecer. so I need to kind of update the entire situation to something without "duct tape". As far as selling the speakers, I don't want to through them out, but I'm not going to get much for 'em anyway.

Ah, got it. You have a broke-down 4x12 and you want a new 2x12. Chosing something like this is really up to personal taste so there's not much point getting specific recommendations from other folks, IMO. It would be better to call a decent music store and arrange an appointment to bring in your MusicMan amp head & your guitar and audition two or three different 2x12 cabinets and pick your own favorite. Any music store that won't let you do this doesn't deserve your business. DP
