| Bogner Ecstasy Hi all, Any1 have any experience with both the Bogner Ectasy classic EL34 and the Ecstasy 101B EL34? I heard samples at the website and they both sound fantastic. What's the difference between them? I'm looking for an amp to record heavy rock music, and i need something that can give me tight, focused lowend. I hear EL34 tubes is the way to go and that Mesa cabs have the best low end response. |

| A buddy of mine got the classic. For distortion it's one of the greatest amps I have ever heard to be honest. I dont know the difference between the 2, but I know the classic is one of the best heads you can get if you want an all around awesome head for recording or live. |

| The Ecstasy Classic is the EL34 power tubes with more filtering in the power supply and a slightly different preamp. The Classic is the most expensive model (and it's the original design). There is also the less popular 101a wihch uses the 6L6 tubes. I have them all. I like the stock 101b the most for modern hard rock |

| Played the classic once and loved it, far more so than the standard model. The standard model just seems to lack the 'soul' of the classic, much for expressive IMO.

| I have a 101B, nice amp. The Diezel is way more evil sounding but sounded more metal, the Bogner sounds more like a Marshall on steroids. The Diezel is super tight and heavy.

It has been my favorite live guitar amp for the longest. That and the Egnater.

| I love Bogners range. The Ecstacy and the Ubeschall are two incredible amps. In my personal opinion, I think that Bogners are more suited to orange cabs with G12k-100s rather than a Mesa V30 cab. I always feel that Mesa cabs (especially the over-sized cabs) sound too 'woofy' and sluggish in the low mids. I like to think that Orange cabs are amongst some of the best built cabs on the market, and the g12k-100s that they load them with are much wider and bigger sounding than vintage 30s, not to mention MUCH less beamy. Just my tuppence! ![]()

| I bought 4 after being dissatisfied with my v30 cab. It is the newer version of the discontinued G12h-100, part of the handmade heritage range, which was a popular replacement speaker in mesa combos and the like while it was in production. Its essentially the same speaker, but it has a bigger more powerful ceramic magnet, which gives it a bigger, tighter low end. G12k100s have a much wider 'open' sounding mid band than a vintage 30, and are much less brittle and beamy in the high mids. They sound a lot more natural and organic than a g12t-75, which can sound slightly nasal and scooped, but they can handle just as much low end. Once you have bought your head, go to an orange dealer and test it out with one of their g12k-100 cabs. You'll be a better judge than me, to whether it suits your tone or not, but I am more than happy with these speakers!
