Vintage Ludwig Black Beauty...

From the "Why the F doesn't this stuff ever happen to me?" category...

A buddy of mine stopped over to watch some football yesterday. During conversation, it came up that while cleaning out his grandmother's house a couple weeks ago, he unearthed an all original "scroll" engraved version of a Ludwig Black Beauty snare from the 1920's.

I haven't seen it yet, but it was played for a while and obviously there's some pitting from it's life in the basement for so long. Now I'm just hunting around to see if I can figure out the value of this thing since it looks like he wants to sell it. He's gonna bring it over later this week for me to look at... I might have to jus club him over the head and take it.
