a good distortion will never come out of a box.. I agree with rockers to add some fuzz and disortion to an already good signal.


but deathmetal comes directly out of a good guitar, a good amp and most important don't use a marshall box

Find something with soul and character. There's so many unique and edgy distortion pedals out there... why by one from digitech.

noisy and thin. I bought one cheap, and used it once.

Not that Deathmetal is really my cup of tea, but you get that kind of nasty fom a good amp, period. If you must go the pedal route, Can't go wrong with a Boss Metal Zone followed by a DD5 and a Graphic eq, IMHO.

If a pedal has the word metal, or the prefix turbo in its name, it will probably suck.

I have never heard anything from DigiTech that I liked.

I am also not a metal player, but even if I were I don't think I would use their stuff.
