Univox Fuzz Pedal

I've been trying to pick one of these up for around a year now... Much loved by Hendrix etc.

Am I barking up the wrong tree. I'm taking it by being pipped at the post four times in a row, they might be wirth having in the arsenal.

The Orange & Blue Super Fuzz with the huge square footswitch? I would *kill* to have one of those!

Not because they sound particularly good; they're actually a bit cheesey in that cheap '60's clipped diode sort of way, if the one I played 20 years ago was any indication

...but they just look SO FREAKIN' COOL!

Well Ive looked at both, but I recently missed out on a very early orange mint in box, but was absolutelyu pantsed at the end by a couple of people I can only guess were collectors. I like the red too, I guess I'm probably just hankering afeter the " look at this factor" although I like that sort of cheap 60s garage band sound.

Yeah I got one about a year ago. Really great raunchy fuzz pedal...not smooth like that Hendrix guy liked. R-A-W fuzz power!

I bought a Unifuzz a while back and sold it. The circuit is the same as the superfuzz but it's ac powered and doesn't have a footswitch. It sounded ok but was a bit too noisy to be useful. I also have a Black Cat superfuzz clone. It's a little harsher compared the the vintage univox.

they're great.

it's also the Live At Leeds fuzz... that's all the recommendation anyone needs!

I hesitate to mention it only because it's a secret weapon I was hoping not everyone would find out about.

I dont think the Voodoo labs superfuzz is a superfuzz copy, its actually a copy of something else. I just checked the site and it says its a copy of a Jordan Electronics Bosstone.

Thumbs up

I have an original Univox Fuzz box circa 1972-73 (orange/blue) that I might be interested in selling; Original box and papers as well.
