Broken Reverb on Fender Hot Rod Deluxe?

So I went to play my fender hot rot deluxe today and found that the reverb didn't work at all. I was wondering how I should go about trouble shooting this. Is this a common mishap with these amps that is an easy fix or should I just bring this sucker back to an amp tech for the 100th time?

Check the send/return cables to make sure they are connected and well seated. Check also the preamp tube that's the reverb driver/recovery (not sure which on your amp, but your manual will).

Other than that, it may be a trip to the tech. Not Fender's best amp in terms of quality; you may want to look for a more reliable amp. People are happy with the Deluxe Reverb reissue and you should be able to pick up a used one at a decent price.

Same thing with mine. This is apparently common. Likely a bad circuit.
TBH, why bother? The reverb is weak anyways.
Just get an Eventide Space and be done with it.
If I had it to do all over, I would have saved for a Mesa-Boogie.
I had a vibration issue with mine. I'd play a low note and this horrible glassy sounding vibration happened even at low volume, making it impossible to record with. After 3 trips to the shoppe it got fixed. So much for great stuff made in the USA. I guess this is what happens when you pay factory workers shite and cut their healthcare like Fender did!

Hot Rod series isn't and hasn't ever been made in the US; they're made in Mexico. Nothing wrong with where it's made -- it's a bigger issue that Fender decided to cost cut on assembly and quality parts to make this amp line affordable.

The Deluxe Reverb is a much better built amp. Less frills, but sounds very good for the money. And the reverb always works.

Damn that post Reagen era manufacturing. If they were made here they'd be un-affordable like Gibsons.

Deluxe Reverb Reissue is made in the US. New $999, used around $799. Hot Rod is $699 new from Mexico.

extra cost isn't just the added labor - the parts used in the Hot Rod are not nearly as good - cement resistors, non-chassis-mounted tubes, etc. Fender realized some people wanted a less expensive amp, and the HR Deluxe was born.

I'd recommend the DRRI any day over the HRD, but a used silver face would be better and easier for most techs to service.
