Who here digs the Hughes and Kettner Statesman 6L6?

I was trying out some amps today and after being let down by all those lunchbox heads and others from name brands an employee told me to give one of these a go. I do pop/rock stuff with lots of thick palm muting and full chords. I'm after an amp that's going to be both crunchy and thick while still giving lots of definition in the full chords. I was stunned to say the least, this is my dream machine. I had always passed over these amps without any reason and now I feel pretty stupid. Anyone else get any use out of these?

Wow, noone? Again I was blown away by this amp, I figured someone would chime in here. I put it up against an AC30 thinking I'd be really into the Vox but it just wasn't so.

Not my experience at all! I'm after something specific so it depends but I was blown away.

I played around with some in the studio - the EL34 version and the 6L6d version. I liked them well enough - but to my ears there seemed to be some little intangible missing - don't get me wrong the amp had a great tone, recorded easily etc... - but something was missing from the recipe.
