1959HW Sliced Sound at 6 (with One Cabinet)

Hi,
I use a 1959HW with a Weber Mass 150 Attenuator and a 1960AHW Cabinet. With the Power Soak there are no Problems when I turn the Amp volume up to ten. But when I switch the Attenuator Bypass to have unattenuated loooud Volume Level, I get a sliced Sound when Volume is set to 6 (2 o clock) or higher. Is this normal with only one cabinet? I think the Amp must OK, because the attenuated signal is ok and the attenuator only affects the signal AFTER the amp. Right?
Amp is at 16?.

Thanks for your help.

What do you mean by a 'sliced' sound? Post a clip if you can.

It's like the Green Day Effect (Hard Tremolo) Or a Killswitch.

Wow - that doesn't sound healthy. Does it happen if you completely eliminate the load box?

That'll be "motorboating" and it means something is wrong inside the amp. Could be a tube, a wire that's moved to a bad place, a cap that's leaking... You'll need to see a tech.
