Just Sharing My Experience And My New Guitar :)

Hey Everyone! Most of you guys probably already know this, but I just wanna share with you guys what I learned from asking questions in the previous threads about "the guitar I just bought": Basically, once you bought a new guitar, there's no need to be much questions asked. The sound, feel, and look, how others think may be an opinion to take but eventually they aren't that important, because of the fact that everyone has their own different tastes & points of view. In the end, what really matters is what you think and why you got it in the first place. After all, appreciate what you got and instead of using those time to ask questions of how others think which there's no absolute answer, use those time on playing to hell out of your guitar. Besides, you already bought the guitar, there's no point of complaining if you figure out something doesn't feel right, spend time and get used to it, then everything should work out just fine : )
THANKS to the experienced players who taught me an important lesson!

MY NEW GUITAR! Welcome Home Babe!!
Model: Fender 1957 Reissue Stratocaster Made In Japan Since 1993
Color: Black & White Body Maple Neck (Like Eric Clapton's Blackie)
Serial #: P0224xx [Second-Handed]

The minute I saw you, I knew I was in love.
Not only because you're beautiful & comfortable,
but because we were born in the same year since 1993.
Spending a whole day to clean you up was worth it,
who says a second-handed can't look as brand new.
Screw your ex who left you behind in the guitar shop.
Your vintage neck is so addictive that I can't let go,
I wouldn't ask you to change your aged appearance,
cz you're flawless just the way you are.
Now let us spend some quality time together shall we!

I can appreciate any good connection between a man and his craft. I feel the same way about my computer and keyboards.

Hey Guys, Just out of curiosity, I know this is sth for me to decide, but I would love to see what others think too, there's no right or wrong, it's just personal tastes in colors and looks, so from "your opinions & points of view", do you guys think this guitar would look better with black volume knobs and black pickups? or perhaps just black pickups and white volume knobs or the other way around? or even two black volume knob on the side and a white volume knob in the middle, or other mix you guys could think of. OR just keep the way it looks now? It's definitely a beauty the way it is now, but it's just some possibilities, besides I could always change it back, I just got this idea in my mind and would like to see what you guys think from different points of view. Hope you guys could help me out a bit. Cheers!! : )

i like the way you've created a nice biotope for your guitar to live in (make sure it has plenty of water and enough good quality guitar food).

well done!

Has the new year caused a magnetic space-time distortion effect and this all of the sudden became the guitar forum, or did you post in the wrong section of GS?

Nothing against guitars, I have a Strat too, congratulations on your new instrument, but... this place if for electronic music. What's next, someone opening a thread about their new tuba?

Yup.... and a Strat is called an "electronic guitar", right?

There's a big difference between "electric" and "electronic"

Welcome to the forum, Jimmy. My wife is Taiwanese... and she struggles with English sometimes (especially in written form). But her struggles with English are NOTHING compared to my struggles with Mandarin!

I'm an ex-pat American living in non-English speaking countries for half my life... so again, lots of sympathy from me!

There's a fine line to be drawn between "electric instruments" and "electronic instruments" it's true... but I wouldn't worry about it too much. Some degree of "electric guitar talk" is perfectly acceptable (at least by me). You will find, however, that discussion of the electric guitar as for example a controller (i.e. MIDI guitar) driving a synthesizer... or as a sound source for digital signal processing (DSP) might be more appropriate for this forum. Cheers.

Oh.. and BTW I know Mr. Varaldo has a bit of experience living life in a foreign language, so he's not out to make you feel bad, but rather to guide you. He's your friend! Zai jian!

THANKS maisonvague!!! wow your wife in Taiwanese that's awesome! ni hao ni hao ????! XD Everyone struggles in learning a new language, we should always have sympathy on each other for that. Oh and nothing against Mr. Varaldo, I respect what he said. What he said was true I'm just asking for forgiveness lol. I wouldn't mind if this thread I started is deleted cz it's posted in the wrong section.. just wanted to share my guitar to the crowd and see what they have to say.. cheers : )

Nice taste in strats! My friend and bass player builds a few guitars now and then and I had him put together pretty much the exact same thing. MIJ Fender '54 Reissue Stratocaster- maple neck- "V" Shape, black body w/ white plastic pickguard, covers, and knobs. Got one of those shortened Gilmour trem arms, and some newer saddle bridges which are easier on the hand.

I'm enjoying mine a lot. It's my primary rehearsal guitar. Glad you like yours too!

There's nothing wrong with guitar talk on a synth forum. Some guitar dudes practically have a modular synth in their pedalboards. Some famous guitarists, like John Frusciante, Jonny Greenwood, and Billy Corgan actually use modular synths and run their guitars through them.

Me? I can't play guitar for shit, but I do own a nice Japanese Telecaster that I sometimes use for simple melodies and basic power chords.

I agree, shadowfac. The more I think about it, this forum could actually stand for a bit of GUITAR LOVE!

I've got a Washburn Limited Edition acoustic steel string I'll strum on every now and again. Been working on Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here' for about... well, fifteen years now. I'm almost there.

Hey Jimmy, your English is very good and yes, like MV said, I was just joking!! It was just that typically users here talk about synths primarily.

Electric guitar isn't really considered an electronic instrument, just as - say - a Rhodes/Wurlitzer piano, a Hohner Clavinet or a Baldwin Harpsichord aren't either. They are electric/electrified.

Now when you start having even a "proper" electronic circuit in your instrument .... when the instrument generates its sound electronically as opposed to just being electrified... it jumps to electronic.... at least that's how I see it

But again, congratulations on your Strat!!

Since the pickup covers are just a plastic piece, it's only gonna cost you maybe $30 to change the pickup covers/knobs. I wouldn't do it, though, white/white/white is THE classic color...

Congratulations on the adoption of your new guitar!

Live with it as is for a while and just enjoy it.

Set-up on the action and intonation with a good strobe tuner is far more
important than cosmetics.
