emi from p-1800 ar leaks into guitar

I bought a Furman p-1800 AR and it leaks emi(I suppose from the transformer) to the guitar pickups. I used it with single coils and humbuckers, both guitars are shielded, with the humbuckers the noise is reduced and when no guitar is connected the amp is dead silent so I believe there are no grounding problems. Has anyone experienced this with this Furman model or a similar voltage regulator?, How should I shield the regulator?, I tried to cover it with aluminum foil but there was no difference
