Thread Starter | Favorite multieffect pedal?
I'm not usually one for all-in-one effects and usually prefer boutique pedals, but I'm looking for a decent sounding multieffect pedal. What's your favorite? One caveat. It needs to either have an expression pedal built in or a plug for an external one.

If it were me picking, I would check out the eventide mod factor. I guess I blindly trust the name and no one has told me anything bad about it except the price and size.

Do you want distortions or just modulations/delays? For a do anything pedal, the distortions in the Vox Valvetronix or the Boss Me50 sound best to me. For just effects, the Line 6 M series work well, depending on how many you need at once (I've got the M5 because I have other delays and reverbs) but I enjoyed the M9 as well... Of course, if you've got the cash the AxeFx is better, but it's a LOT more! |

Hi there, You might want to also have a look at the TC Nova System, which has a fantastic set of effects, but perhaps not as many of the more extreme or strange effects. I think it probably had a different vibe to the Line 6 M series effects, in a sense the effects are more 'pristine' sounding to some peoples ears. You can add an expresion pedal too. It does have a drive section but no amp models, if you are looking for tones like the Boss Metal Zone or Core you might want to look elsewhere, but worth a looks! Any questions, just shout! Neil

Ive had a bunch of different multi units, including the Nova. There was always something lacking, either in sound/fx quality or in the interface of the unit. A couple months ago I bought the Zoom G3 and man this thing rocks.....!! The fx quality is great, but where this thing really shines is in the user interface. It's sooo easy and intuitive to use. Three screens with three knobs for each screen. It's really hands on and very tactile. I totally recommend the unit, especially at the $199 price tag its a bargain....Don't shy away because of the Zoom brand name--this is a killer unit....!!!
