Thread Starter | Millionaire Yamaha Bass?
Browsing bass guitars on dolphin music and came across this irregularly priced instrument. Yamaha BB2024X \'Super BB\' Bass Guitar in Black I wonder if they take cheques... |

| Gear maniac | It's a really nice instrument! Feels and sounds like you'd expect a master-built bass to be like. If you like an alternative to the P-bass and J-bass sound, then this one has a great passive tone that falls in the same category...but has it's own style. No frills and very playable...a little less bark but tighter than a P in the P position, and a little less sweet than a J with both pickups on...but more defined midrange and tone. The bridge pickup is ceramic...so it's sound is pretty midrangy and bold. I don't like it too much alone, but it works wonders together with the other pickup to get more growl and grit than any J will ever give you. It sits very well in the mix, and gives a tight full bottom and defined tone. It's not my best slapping bass, but for finger-style and pick it's great. |
