PRS vs les apul

Matisyahu Performs "One Day" (at iheartradio) - YouTube

Is this a PRS?

Any Ideas on amps or pedals? I want to do some reggae and need a guitar rig?

deff. a prs. really cool color i've not seen advertised.
He's just playing the inbetween notes with a delay to let the delay fill out the part. (there's probably a more technical name for this but I don't know it.)

edit: finished the video, he has a wah and some other junk too.

Looks like this from the PRS site.

I believe that's a Mira, with the stoptail. Nice guitar, more along the lines of a Gretsch than a Gibson (thinner pickup sound, brighter). If you like that sound, the Mira isn't real expensive (used on with a Bigsby in Madison Guitar Center for $1200), or get an Electromatic Gretsch and replace the pickups with TV Jones.

The delay thing he's doing is the "dotted 8th" delay. Most digital and a few analog will allow you to do that, set up the delay in dotted 8ths, tap in the 1/4 note tempo, then the delay will fill in the notes between the ones you play creating kind of a "waterfall of sound".

BTW, while this is super cool music, it shares almost nothing with reggae? Guitar stuff and keys are on the beat, no drums, although the verbal phrasing is sorta similar.

It is definitely a mirra which is not the most Gibson like PRS. I was looking to buy a higher end les paul or a SG but was put off by the unstable nature or Gibsons and the weight. I have owned a few and all of them go out of wack to easily for me. I never considered owning a PRS but I happened to notice this one PRS was setup sort of Gibson style meaning 2 humbuckers and a stop piece. The McCarty is the PRS take on a Gibson minus all the ergonomic and setup problems that a lot of Gibsons have. I have found it to live up to the gibson vibe in both its tone and playability. It has a nice beefy neck that feels like the baseball bat necks on a lot of Gibsons. I am totally satisfied. Its also very stable and more comfortable around my neck then anything else I have ever played. Check one out.

Its either this one or a les paul special with p 90s. Im looking to get it for hip/reggae like the nas and damian marley album.

What do yall think is the better choice? Both are un chambered solid mahongany bodies.

I found this thread searching a little could be a start?
Reggae/Dub guitar players - Your boards and effects [Archive] - The Gear Page

I think old gear, and old delay. Crinkle-y partial bar chords and reverb; playing on the 2 and 4. But have no idea beyond that...
