Thread Starter | Keyboard power cord - any help appreciated
Hi, although I've lurked quite a bit, it's come to that time where I must ask a question, so, here goes: (if this is in the wrong forum I'll take it down) I just got a casiotone 610, only problem is it seems to be lacking a power cord. It seems to need a 3-pin supply, ie. like a computer power cord, but says 240v~ 50/60Hz, 23W. I checked my computer power cord out of curiosity, but the only bit of information I can find is 250v~, so I suppose it probably wouldn't be a great idea to give that a try :X If there's any advice anyone could give on what would work and where I may be able to find it, I would be very appreciative. It seems that the casio site doesn't even acknowledge the casiotones exist, and there's not alot of information online, so I'm kind of lost here. Thanks. |

It sounds like a European version of the keyboard, rated for 240v? Some digital equipment has autoranging where it'll automatically set itself up for the right voltage, not likely in a Casio. There may be the ability to adjust inside for different voltages. The end of the power cable is usually a simple IEC connector like all computers, most synths, most studio stuff uses, but it's the power you put in the other end thru the wall outlet that matters. If you're in america, try plugging it in. If you're feeding it 110v and it needs 220, then it'll just not turn on, no harm done. If it fires up you're done. If it needs 220v, you'll either have to buy a step up transformer or get it modded. |
