Epiphone Wilshire Pro

I'm considering picking one of these up, since they're so cheap, but also are lots of fun to play. The pull to single coil humbuckers give this guitar a lot of versatility.

My hesitation is that it's cheap. I have lots of really nice guitars (Sadowsky, vintage Gibson SG, etc.), so I don't want to buy junk, but my impression is that the original Wilshires had some cache and resale value.

Anybody have any thoughts on these?

Dan

the originals now have cachet, but I think they were considered a cheap student model when they came out. The repro still looks cheap, and I'd definitely want to spend time playing it to see if it lives up to your standards. Otherwise, there are plenty of well made single coil guitars to choose from.

Good advice Nedorama. Already played it twice. Kinda like it! The reissues are humbuckers, though (which I like!).
