Most of the difference between models comes down to the neck profile. If you are used to a classic neck, go for the Grand Concert SA. If you are used to an electric neck, you would go with the ACS-SA Slim. I have an ACS-SA with a 1 7/8" nut, but a slightly radiused fretboard. It does feel different from my classic Alhambra because of the radius, but strung with Thomastik Classic S (wire rope core) strings, I can do some bottleneck slide on it through a Fishman Aura. Nice guitar. Other than that, all I can suggest is trying to find and play as many different models as you can. For questions you can't seem to find answers to, I have found Godin is quite responsive.

I've got 3 Godins myself and they're really good stage guitars. There's a nice limited KOA version of the ACS, which caught my attention although I don't like the ACS too much because of the fact that it's solid. In other words, it's acoustically completely dead so you can't practice without an amp. My Multiac SA is pretty much my main guitar even though it's by far the least costly instrument in my collection. It's just a very convenient instrument. I love them. You can't go wrong! They have some new models out which I haven't tried, but the RME pickups in the SA model are really, really good and I don't even bother with the synth stuff. |
