What's the difference in the Vox AC15H1TV and the AC15HW1X ?

It looks like the H1TV has been discontinued - but I can't find any big differences in the 2 amps.

:partial answer: OK - It looks like the HW1X has a Master Volume. There is a'bass shift' and an EF86 mode on the TV (whatever the frick that means) And on second review, I'm guessing that's the same thing as the 15/7.5 watt option found on the other HW1x.

It appears they use the same tubes. They seem the same - just reconfigured slightly. Was the first one a dud and they re-engineered it?

Is one better than the other? Anyone know the diff?

They use different tubes; the EF86 is a pentode that is in the darker and gainier of the two channels of the TV version (and was used in the much coveted original AC15).

For my money an AC15 with no EF86 is no AC15 at all. But if you are looking for something like a top boost AC30 with less power, the newer version might be a good choice; except that with the EZ81 rectifier tube, it will compress a lot more than an AC30.
