Les Paul Traditional Plus vs Pro

I'm gonna buy a new Gibson Les Paul soon. Its always been a dream to own a Les Paul and I wanna make sure I get The right one.
My budget is in the 2k range so I'm down to getting either the Traditional Plus or Pro.
I've tried both in the store and didn't really hear a vast difference so I'm looking for some feedback on the differences between the two.
Pluses and minuses for both?
I'm a casual, at-home player. Don't gig and only occasionally record.
I know the Pro allows you to split the coils and play in a stratocaster or telecaster tone but other than that, what are the differences?

It comes down to personal preference really.

"Traditional" (aka PLUS):
-$300 more expensive (because of figured top)
-covered 57s (neck & bridge)
-figured top
-Kluson tuners
-gloss neck (ie shiny finish)

"Traditional PRO"
-uncovered PUs
-57 in neck & burstbucker (higher output) in bridge
-plain top (not figured)
-locking Grover tuners
-coil tap PUs (pull for single-coil)
-Satin neck (matte finish)

I actually meant to update this thread a while ago 'cause I ended up buying a Traditional Plus. Went to GC, played both the Pro and the Plus and the Plus was HEAD AND SHOULDERS better-sounding for me.
Love it. Best guitar I've boughten, ever.
