Hi I've got a new BDRI and like the one i returned theres a buzzing on certain notes-usually from the F sharp to the A up the octave on the low E. Strangley the one i returned had the same problem but only with low E notes! Having removed the back im sure its something to do with the chassis. Is this common? Are there any solutions? I want to keep this one if possible as it sounds sweeter than the others i've tried. Another problem is one of the screws on the top of the amp (i assume the 6 screws, 2 on top and 2 each side hold the chassis in place) is so tight it wont unscrew-even with slight force the grooves on the head have worn a little and by looking underneath this screw seems to be of a different thickness-Mexican quality control again?! Is this a job for a amp tech? I have read elsewhere removing the chassis and repositioning somewhat might eliminate the vibration but wouldnt the chassis be in a fixed place determined by the position of the screw holes? Would some foam between the metal of the chassis and the wood of the cab work? |

well further inspection suggests its actually the nameplate on the back panel thats the problem. Any idea how to remove this thing?

i've got this kind of problem with my VOX AC30 rattling and vibrations but i think it's the valves - i'm going to look into new valve options in fact i'm going to start a thread about that

ha well i think i solved it. Im pretty sure its the nameplate on the back panel! Think i read this could cause a buzz! Funny thing is with the back panel just sitting in position its fine but when i put the screws in, even so they are just slack, the buzz returns. Also when i had the back off i did notice one of the tubes was vibrating, this disappeared when i held it with my fingers and pulled it gently towards me. I wonder if thats connected to the nameplate buzz? Any experiences with this? |
