Deville weirdness?

My 410 hot rod deville is experiencing some weirdness... Between 0-2 on the volume knob (clena) it's really quiet and fizzy. Soon as you hit 2 it gets loud and proper sounding.

It also is louder at 0 than at 0.5 for some reason. Why is it even making noise at 0!?

The 2 distortion channels are fine.

Any ideas?
