Your 1974x ![]() The Blackstar Artisan 15w ![]() And the fender Princeton recording amp ![]() Are great recording amps for the Studio. And together with some pedals a wide variety of tones can be offered. If they want more/different (may be a 4x12 cab) you can hire. For bass: Fender Bassman 300 Pro (Former SUNN design). ![]() Ampeg SVT ![]() Or Mesa Boogie 400 ![]() Hope this helps, Muziekschuur

The magic of a 'Plexi style amp' , wich is the: Marshall 1974x & the Blackstar Artisan (and all the others), is revealed when both preamps are paired and oversteer the end amp. This is done with one short wire from output to input and then use the other input for guitar and thus chaining both preamps to create a world of light to superheavey overdrive & together with a tubescreamer (or many others) a world of overdrive distortion. Cheers, Muziekschuur |

So in other words, all #1959s are Plexis, but not all Plexis are #1959s? Yeah, I'm a big fan of the little jumper cord on the input jacks when I use #1959 heads. (Also a big fan of just diming every knob...turn every single control fully clockwise, yeah baby!) I must confess, the place I originally learned of the jumper cable trick was from an early 1970's Marshall catalog that showed a picture of -- wait for it -- Donny Osmond -- playing a Farfisa organ through a Marshall stack! Go figure. | |

1959's are "plexis" from their inception in 1965 until June 1969. In July '69 the control panels changed to brushed aluminum. 1959's continued to made right through the JCM 800 range. And then were reissued, originally in '87 then with the more common 1959SLP. George |

If at all possible, I'd look at finding a vintage Hiwatt DR-504 in your neck of the woods. Way better build quality than any hand wired vintage Marshall. If you are going for something new, most of the builders I mentioned above do ship international. If affordability is an issue, I tend to agree that Ceriatone is a very strong option.
