Anybody used the Optek Fretlight guitars?

I've been thinking about getting one of these - it's what guitar hero should have been. Maybe I'm delusional, but I really think I could learn something from this approach.

I'm just not sure which model. Is one a particularly good emulation that would hold it's own as a "real" guitar, or should I just get the cheapo and think of it as a learning tool and not a dual purpose/working guitar?
