Thread Starter | Baritone neck on a Jazzmaster body?
So after debating on what baritone guitar to pick up for a long while now I've decided nothing out there is really what I'm looking for, aside from maybe a Bass VI (which is out of my price range) or the Jaguar Custom Shop Baritone (which is discontinued). What I've always wanted is a Jazzmaster baritone, but sadly that's never been produced. So I'm thinking about frankensteining one. Thoughts/advice/insults? If anyone has any suggestions about what kind of neck I'd need for a Jazzmaster (would a strat/tele baritone one work), that'd be great. Thanks much!

I put a Warmoth-made baritone neck on a Telecaster. Construction is as good or better than today's Fenders. Lacquer/finish it yourself and save some money. It is a GREAT neck/guitar. I will say that with the new scale length/harmonics/etc. the bridge pickup sounds really thin and not good. I've been tossing around the idea of moving the bridge pickup up a little higher or just installing something in the middle. The neck pickup sounds absolutely amazing. They don't appear to offer a Jazzmaster-style neck in Baritone. Perhaps you could give them a call and see if they can cook something up for you...

I'm reviving this thread because I've been thinking the same thing, that a Jazzmaster baritone might be really cool. Did you (or anyone) ever have any luck finding a baritone neck for the jazzmaster?

That Agile is cool looking but I wound up buying a Danelectro baritone with the wood bridge piece and two lipsticks. Now that is THE sound of a classic baritone, and it costs less than a warmoth neck to buy. Strictly a one trick pony for me, but WHAT a trick. |

I have an Agile baritone.. 28" scale, but more of a modern style (think Schecter, etc). Carved top, neck-through - with Duncan blackouts. It's freaking incredible. I want a second one - maybe a different body style with some lower-gain pickups. Maybe I'll get a Warmoth neck and make one. |

Yeah Jazzmaster is 25.5" neck, so just drop in any fender style bari neck.
