Expression Pedal like a Sustain Pedal

Hey GS,

Does anybody make an expression pedal that behaves more like a piano sustain pedal than a wah?

Like I'd like love to add harmonics into something the smoothly comes back off like a gas pedal or something so I don't have to think so much about the return.

Does something like that exist?

I get a lot of my sustain from Dynacomp at the front end.

I get some control over it in a similar way to your desired method by using a volume pedal at the end of the chain.

Curious as to whether there is a product that performs as you described.

This comes pretty close.

There is a demo here:

I have had one for about 10 years- they aren't made anymore but worth hunting if you like these sorts of sounds.

The Boss DD-20 Giga delay has a setting where you can hold down the pedal to increase the "feedback" setting - It's really nice for grabbing notes and chords and making them sustain. I'm not sure if it's what you're after but it's worth checking out.

It's mostly the action that I'm going for.

If any of you have ever played a piano and used it's sustain pedal, you totally know what I mean. The pedal follows your foot back up as you release it, like a gas pedal. It's not just stuck at whatever point it was left last like a wah pedal.

Like if there was an expression pedal with a spring response of some kind that would be close.
