Thread Starter | Places in London to meet a nice old acoustic?
I'm looking at old Gibson and Martin flattops, trying to find the right one. Looking to spend money, but not crazy - space program - kind of money, more second hand car money. I've been dropping in on shops on Demark Street in the hopes of meeting the one and nearly found her - twice! But one time she was just too old and fragile('51 and I travel too much for that) or sensitive (low action at the nut played like a whispy dream but started grumbling and buzzing and getting a headache as soon as I'd dig in a bit). Anyway, it's great to be dating new(well old...) guitars again, and I'm confident of finding me a(nother) life partner. What I'm after is a list of some recommended shops in London who usually have a nice choice of old Gibson and Martin type flattops. There's obviously Denmark Street, and Chandlers in Kew who I plan to go check out. Any others?? thanks |
