Clean power?

I have always heard a crackling sound in my amps (65 Twin Reissue & Peavey Classic 50 hd w/410cab) and just thought it was the amps. Last Saturday I purchased a Carr Rambler 1x12 (which is very nice by the way) and it does the same thing. The crackling sound is there even if there is no guitar plugged in. Would it help if I had some kind of power conditioner like the one below? Or if you could recommend something in the same price range or cheaper that would help.

Thanks,
Len

"Crackling" could really be a bunch of things - I'm not there to hear it - but, you could be picking up faint RF signals. If that's the case, see if your amp has a polarity switch (often on the back) and flip it.

I think I have something similar to this going on. Its not so much crackling as a pulsing click. My neighbors have an electric dog fence and I hear a pulsing through my amps and preamps. Even if I record guitar direct with an amp plug in I hear it. I bought a Monster power conditioner and it did absolutely nothing. Its just a fancy surge protector. I know this doesn't help much but just warning you about the Monster stuff...it sucks.
