I've never heard one of these amps and I'm sure they sound good but I just can't see paying that money for an amp that will never leave my house.

I guess... I don't buy gear and think... awww man.. this will sound great in my bedroom.. I think, awww man.. I can't wait to crank this live.

I guess that's just me... but the amp is beautiful. I've heard some youtube clips and they seem really versatile.

Well, if they sound as good as people say they do then they definitely have a place in the studio...

Thanks fellas for the comments, we also make more roadworthy stuff too like the GK59 or Aviator models which both have the Model A circuit.
Cheers,

$3500 USD for a head

Here is what our site says about who we built the first one for:

Our first custom "signature" model was built for Nashville session player/producer Gordon Kennedy

He wanted a head and cabinet with a more Vintage/traditional look to go with his nice (and quite large) vintage guitar and amp collection.

Gordon has most recently worked with Peter Frampton as a guitarist and co-producer on Peter's latest album "Fingerprints" as well as appearing on many tour dates and trading licks on stage with Mr. Frampton.

Peter and Gordon won Grammy's this year for best pop instrumental album. Gordon also won a Grammy in 1997 for his writing credit on the song "Change The World" as sung by Eric Clapton and featured in the hit film Phenomenon.

Hey, I played through on of the Ark Amps at Motor City Guitar last week. I loved it, wish I had to cash for it.
My only concern is that its made out of wood. Isn't that a fire hazzard?

LOL, not anymore than a plywood head box and cab, actually LESS as we shield the stuffings out of our heads with thick sheets of aluminum, not much chance for fire there (or interference)

We also make leather covered heads and cabs, they are on our websitethumbsup

those amps look pretty silly. the hand crafted egg shaped wood knobs alone are hilarious.

$3500 for a one channel head is simply too expensive.

$1200 for a cab is simply insane.

$4700 plus tax, shipping, etc for a one channel amp with 1X12 cab?

if you cannot find something that sounds great for about half that you must be living on planet space ball.

$1800 for a 20 watt head? what?

leather on a guitar head? wtf? "hide and oak"? ug.

when did musical instruments become decor for millionaires' ski lodges?

"it'll go beautifully with the unpainted beams and custom couch honey! now play me that lick from sunshine of your heart or whatever it's called!"

spam on.

Ouch, freedom of speach can be a painful thing

Everyone has a right to like what they like, good thing I never expected everyone to be into the artistic hand made approach, one reason we still offer "normal" style heads as well lik the GK59... I happen to like companies that try to be different, be themselves and stick to it
