"how to" replace a tube in my Avalon

New to the site, so go easy on me if i got the wrong forum for this question. I looked around and could not see this question addressed.

I am NOT tech savvy, but need to replace the tubes in my Avalon VT 737 sp preamp. i have removed the top cover. is there a special way to remove the tubes? or install the new ones for that matter?

i cannot see any screws from the top or the bottom of the unit that seem to hold them in place, yet when i "gently" try to remove them, they seem to be firmly in place.

again, forgive what may be a stupid question to most of you.... I'm just a lowly voice actor trying to be self-sufficient if i can.

The pins will be held snugly in the tube sockets. Just work the tube gently back and forth. It'll free up and pop out. When you replace the tube pay attention to the pin configuration in the socket and make sure the pins are lined up. It's easy and pretty fool-proof.

Just unplug the unit first if you haven't already done so. Be aware that the large capacitors in the power supply can hold a dangerous level of voltage for a day or so even after the unit is unplugged. You can discharge the capacitors by touching a plastic handled screwdriver from the capacitor leads to the chassis. Hold the screwdriver by the insulated handle.
