guitar players, Taylor Solid Bodies?

I have heard mixed reviews on the Taylor solid body guitars. I finally got to plug one into a Fender Deluxe and Bogner Xtasy. I must say I really liked the guitar and tone.

It played pretty good, though the particuliar guitar needed a better setup, the neck was a little thicker, though nothing I couldn't get used to, and felt like the tone was there, not overly bright, and usable in a the extreme left/right toggle areas.

I think the guitars may be slightly overpriced, but The entry level is on my short list for a backup when I can afford it.

Anyone have one they feel like sharing about?

While I do suspect just because it has the name taylor, it was going to get some flack either way, just sometimes the nature of being popular, and not everyone liking taylor to begin with.

I played one of the new Larrivee solidbodies too. Nice guitars.

Larrivee used to make solidbodies in the eighties. Most were pretty ugly, but they were well built and played/sounded great.

These ones look a lot better.

I have eight electrics ranging from PRS CE-24 to '68 SG. My favorite all around guitar is my Solid body Taylor Classic. Those half Humbuckers are amazingly versatile and out burn the Dragon II's on my PRS. Taylor has the best undiscovered secret out there.

I don't know. I wasn't that impressed when I played one. Was ok, but didn't really have a personality. That's kind of how I feel about PRS too.
