Carl Martin Octa-switch

Has anyone used this? I'm looking at two different units. Either the Carl Martin Octa-Switch or the Gig Rig MIDI 8.

The Gig Rig is a lot more comprehensive but it also costs more money. Has anyone else used either of these or something else similar to it? I'm open to suggestions.

It got lousy reviews on Harmony Central. I ordered a Voodoo Labs Pedal Switcher last week. Fewer channels but it got better reviews.

My switch is supposed to be in this week. When I know more I'll post.

Thought I'd bump this. My Voodoo Labs Pedal switch just arrived at my local GC today. Won't be able to report how it works for a few days because I'll be at the Styx/Boston show in Seattle. Road Trip!!!

I'll be back Sunday and post what I find out. BTW, this switch is American made in Santa Rosa, CA. Built to order, it took me over a month to get this one.

Awesome!!

I'm actually working with my wife's uncle on designing something like that. But that is a few weeks out so please report on your pedal. It may still be easier for me to buy one... I do like the idea of having it custom designed for my pedals, etc.

The switch is very substancial feeling. Made of metal, looks and feels like quality hardware. It works as expected, sounds just fine to me. Doesn't sound as if it's sucking up tone. I'll be wiring up more of my effects pedals tonight, so if anything appears to be an issue I'll report back.

OK, the jurys back: the switch is good. I've got all four ports and the TRS insert wired in. Works/sounds great. I paid $195.00 for the switch at my local GC (I used the 10% off coupon). So, if you have a bunch of old non-bypass effects I think this is an excellent solution.

I'm only asking because I'd like to know if anyone has actually used the OctaSwitch

i'm really curious about the Voodoo Lab loop switcher cos it looks like exactly what i want.

there's one majorly negative review of it on Harmony Central that's making me reluctant to pull the trigger, so i'm curious to see how yours ages first!
