New guitar amp? Hi, We currently own : Mesa boogie Dual Rectifier (trichan) + Marshall G12 T75 4*12 Marshall Vintage Modern + Marshall greenback 4*12 What would be the best purchase for playing heavy rock/punk/metal? This purely to broaden my spectrum as wide as possible or to make a more complete sound. I'm hearing that a 6505 and a Boogie sounds absolutly crazy together? What are your opinions? What would make a great add on for the Marshall Vintage Modern? The idea is to make a boogie/6505 for rythm guitar and a marshall/xxx for lead sound. Which 4 amps will be ideal to make a full spectrum possible? Thanks in advance !

Used 6505's can be had relatively cheap and a lot of guys like them. You might consider a Boogie Mark IV. Terrific liquid lead sound and you can find a combo used for about $1000. It's also very versatile; you can get anything from classic rock to jazz out of it and the clean channel is very good. If you have the budget check out Diezel / Engl / etc. Also you should consider getting a rectifier 2x12 or 4x12 cab if you're running your rectifier through a Marshall cab. I've never been happy with a boogie run though a Marshall cab.

Why not look into the Randal/Egnater Modular series heads or Rack. If you are wanting different flavors for different stuff, I see no reason on buying full on amps, but picking up different pre modules, much cheaper to experiement with (well at least if you go randall mods, egnaters are a bit more). May not get exactly what you are asking about, but I bet you could find some really nice flavors to play with, all in the same amp.

| Take a look at the Reeves Custom 30 Custom 50 or Custom Lead The new VVT Amps Earthquake 5.1 will blow your doors off too. The Reinhardts are great on Marshall Circuits. The Red Iron Amps are hot too, especially the T-Rex-is backordered. Suhr Badger 30 too is backordered.

My vote goes for either Bogner XTC, which is the most versatile amp I've ever dealt with & Diezel Herbert or VH4 if you like more aggressive tone, still very versatile. Whichever one you get you'll be happy for a long time & the clean channel of these amps sound not less than phenomenal too.
