Red Iron Amps Steel The Show

I've been following a thread on TGP about the NY/NJ Amp show last week
and there are numerous rave references to Paul Sanchez' Red Iron Amps.
The Gear Page - View Single Post - Impressions: NY (NJ) Amp Show

They are certainly a show stopper in the cool factor.
And for the moment, his prices are insanely reasonable for a top end
one off builder.

The amps at the show are not yet shown on his web page, but
I'd say these amps deserve your attention if you're into pure hand wired,
true point to point fine class A amps.

Nice amps, but is that old growth redwood?

No good friend, the wood is Mesquite
so if the amp ever catches fire you can celebrate with a tasty barbecue :-)

The reason I posted about these amps was the reaction from other builders and players alike at the amp show.

True point to point construction without the use of tag boards is an art that very
few modern builders are using.
It's all about the purity of the circuit and Paul holds nothing back on the quality
of workmanship or the components chosen

Paul spent 15 years working at Kendrick before branching out on his own.

You know we always see requests for a great amp at reasonable prices.

This could be a great place to start.

All kidding aside,

I think these amps represent a rare opportunity to catch something very fine
while Paul is building them himself, one at a time.

There really has never been such a fantastic opportunity for musicians
to find exactly what they want in a finely crafted amplifier.

I also think it's great that this kind of new talent is able to shine through
in a gaunlet of choices.

It's also extraordinary to see small builders supporting each other as their companies grow.

Normally you might expect a heated turf war, but here we have a group of
highly gifted craftsman delighted that their peers are receiving the recognition
they deserve.

Bravo!

I ordered a T-Rex today - going to have to wait several months for it, but I am very psyched (especially after hearing the soundclips).

Thanks for starting this thread, by the way, FFTT - I'm on TGP, too, and even there are now several threads now discussing Red Iron and the T-Rex over there, I might not have checked out Paul's work if I hadn't seen this thread.

I know how hard it is to save for something really good
and when I find or hear about stuff that's a cut above, I try to share that knowledge.

You also benefit from knowing that the person who designed the amp
personally built that amp for you and there's no one else with a higher responsibility
to make sure you're happy with your purchase.
