Thread Starter | Opinions of Celestion G12T-75s?
Mostly for rock and metal. I need tight lows, full mids, non-piercing highs. These sound alright, but I wonder if I could do better? I have other cabs for vintage sounds, I'm really looking for aggressive and modern here. Thoughts?

What cab, what amp? Usually G12T-75 & V30 combination works great in a 4x12. |

I don't mind the 75's, once they break in. new, they are a bit peircing, but overall I think they work well. But if you want lots of mids, you will have to dial them in on your amp. They have more low end then a V30, but not quite as tight down there, and a little more highs. They don't have that sometimes harsher upper mid like the V30s, and like the above poster said, a mixture of both would probally be a great combination.

| I use that same cab all the time to record heavy rock and metal. In fact recently I had a band in with a dual rec and mesa cabs with V30's and after some comparison tests we all chose the Marshall. I seem to get a good focused sound that I really like out of it.

Have been using lots or Marshalls recently with old worn-in GT12-75s and I'm shocked at how good they sound compared to what I've experienced before. In the past they've always been harsh and scooped/phasey sounding with Marshalls at least. It seems that open back Marshall 2 x 12 combos get rid of that problem somewhat
