Thread Starter | Guitar cab wiring I pulled open my Marshall 1960A (JCM 900) today. I was surprised to see 18g wiring! All nice and clean, mind you, but seems odd when the speaker cable coming into the cab is 12g! Anyone think I should re-wire it with better wire?

| Yup upgrade to 12 or 14 AWG, but also be sure to verify correct polarity before you close up the cabinet, using the 9 volt battery test. All the speakers should move forward when you touch the main speaker lead across the battery terminals.
