Shame we were only hearing clips from the studio monitors via the camera's mic... everything sounded muffled and cardboardy

Seems strange to me that he would use a distortion pedal as his JSX amp is capable of such a high-gain distortion sound on its own. I can see where some weenies might find semi-conductor clipping the holy grail of tone. For me, these pedals were what I bought because I couldn't afford a quality 3 or 4 channel high-gain tube amp. Give me Boogie Quad, a JSX, or a 5150III and I don't think I would ever use a distortion box for anything.

Anyone know exactely what the "pad" switch does?

"Make any pedals working together" sounds a little too good....

well.....there is no mystery here....satch is just doing his job here....part of his job is selling gear for various companies....

that said i have never really loved multi channel amps....i love simple high end single channel amps that can do clean to just starting to break up.....with just the right couple pedals.

It must be a -10 dB (or any other dB amount) pad for not saturating/clipping other pedals in the chain.

That's what I was thinking, too, just a pad. But that won't do much for PNP/NPN conflicts with germanium fuzzes and other black sheeps..........

+1 on the -10 or some level of db lowering for the pad toggle.

In combination with the JSX I am sure he wants different distorted tone options. But let's not kid ourselves, the guy gets paid to sell products and having product input and getting it named after yourself is cool regardless.

I am sure Peavey engineers laugh at the fact it's probably based around their clean channels smooth tube sound.

You need something that you've never heard in person? That's kind of funny.
