Sovtek MIG-60 and Sovtek 4x12 for $500???

Sovtek MIG-60 and Sovtek 4x12 for $500???

Neighbor is selling it in "perfect shape" asking $600 or best offer.

1. its WAY more then I need. (id like to toy with it and put on ebay)
2. I might use the 4x12 and an orange tiny terror..
3. I have no idea what the FFF I'm doing but I love guitars and amps.

Possible screaming deal plus fun while I put on ebay?
The Sovtek MIG-60 goes for $500 on ebay all day long..

Only thing I'm worried about is if I'm totally wrong and having to lug around a 4X12.

But at $500 is it the deal of the year for me? Even if I have absolutely no use for such a HUGE ASS AMP.... Its reported "loud as hell"

Its a toss up of buying "something I don't need, thats a really dang slick price"
Reminds me of a friend that got a hydroplane on ebay... flew about 6 inches off the ground at 20 MPH.. totally useless but man was it cool..

Again I have no use for a 4x12 60 watt full stack.. lol... but $500 in mint shape???

(this is not it but its the last auction)

How about hooking me up with the seller and skipping the ebay thing. I need a MIG60 to do the exact opposite of my AC15. I don't need the cabinet. We've got lots and lots and lots of speaker configs here.

Is it a MIG60-H?

"H" is the Sovtek designation for "high gain". I could be totally dumb though being that part of me wants to say they never made an "H" mig60. But for some reason I could SWEAR that I had one with an "H".

If I may ask..

I have never had a 4X12 amp like this..
Anything I should look for when buying a used amp? He said its
"almost new, not used in a year"

Other then it has no rips and I suspect to find a pefect shape amp..

Let me get this correct.. its from 1996?

Any hints I should look for?
Old tubes dont bother me as id perfer to get NOS or real nice tubes any way.

Should I check for short circuit smell or anything to look for when buying used?
Or is "new looking" good enough?

We setteled at $550 for amp and speakers.
