PICKUP IS MICROPHONIC?

I have a Schecter with a SH-6 Distortion pup in the bridge. This pup has always been high output, but I think it has become microphonic. It just feeds back now at full volume, and is just SO hot. The pickup has a chrome cover on it (like the Gibsons) What are the signs of a microphonic pup? I have heard I shouldn't take the cover off of this pup because it's sealed or some shit, but I just can't take the feedback anymore, so I'm experimenting. buuuahahahahaha! I have the same model of pup in all my gits, and none of them act like this one. Any thoughts?

Yup that is microphonic.
Don't take the cover off- you will likely screw the pickup.

You need to have the pickup repotted- it is relatively cheap to do but not something to do alone if you have never done it before.
Repotting is dipping it in hot wax.
You need to get it to a precise temp though - around 150 degrees.

Have a look here:

Or, if this is too tricky, you can replace it.
