amp search, warm, full, clean tone, medium volume

I'm looking for a amp for stuff such as Blues/Rock Hendrix, Rhcp, Buddy Guy, Etc,. Really I want a amp with a great warm full clean sound. Spring Reverb is a must have. And medium output level, so i can still do recording but also do a decent size of gigs around 1000$ price range

Pretty much sounds like the perfect description of a Carr Rambler.
I've also recently heard someone play a nice Fargen, small thingie, but I can't remember what model.

a silver faced princeton or deluxe reverb will get you there for sure, and save you $400 to boot.

Well you're decribing several amps there and trying to get one to do it all, not easy
and then limiting things further with your budget.
For Fender cleans and blues overdrive tones at pushed volumes, you're
looking at amps based on a 6V6 or 6L6 power section.

For the warmer Hendrix tones, really you're looking at something
in a 30-50 Marshall based circuit running 4XEL84's or 2 EL34's , KT 66's or KT88's

Just about any amp in that price range is going to be PCB based if you want
band worthy volumes.

For a dedicated recording amp, you may be able to get away with something smaller in a single ended Class A low wattage amp.

In your case, in that budget, I'd recommend looking at the Marshall Circuit offerings from Ceriatone.
All hand wired and numerous options available from a well respected builder.

+1 on the princeton reverb - I have mine with the deluxe output transformer and it puts out 22 watts - enough for most gigs (anything bigger and you can put a mic on it).

May also want to look at Buddha and Top Hat.

It's tough trying to get you into something well built in that price range.

As far as USA built better Fender Circuits

The Gries 20 and Gries 35 are outstanding all hand wired improved Fender
circuits with Reverb and Master Volume.
Pricing

The other amp that comes to mind is the Allen Accomplice
Allen Amplification - Accomplice Amp

For more of the 18 watt Marshall/Hiwatt tones, I'd still reach for
the Reeves Custom 18

www.reevesamps.com - Reeves Custom 18

Also take look at the Reinhardts.

what about the Koch studiotone? anyone ever try it? it's sorta in that $ range . . .

I had a budda superdrive 18 and it was SO noisy it was unusable. What about a soldano Astroverb or THD univalve? I've had both. great amps (just got the univalve, it's a sweet amp. . . )

edit: i didn;t see the thing about spring verb - that would rule out the THD . . .
