Mesa Boogie MK1

I have had a Mesa Boogie MK1 combo lying around since the early nineties. How can I tell if it is an original or a re-issue? Forgive me but guitar amps are not my strong point. Come to think of it, not sure I have a strong point!!
I'm also looking for info on Vox stuff and Fender Tremolux but that's maybe for another thread.

Send a message via AIM to octatonic
Take some pics of it (inside and out) and I should be able to tell you.

Alternatively, call Boogie- they are great at this sort of stuff.

I second that 'calling them direct'. They are very helpful on the phone. I think that there are lists of dates/serial numbers kicking around on the net...this might be useful.

1977 Mark I - Maple

I didn't know that they did the reissue in the early 90s (?). As a side note I always amazed at how cheap most of the boogie stuff is in the states....and how much we have to pay in the UK. I always lusted after the stuff as a kid after seeing Pete Townshend, Bill Nelson etc with them - could never have afforded one though. I love my mkiii.

Wel for one, an original does not say MK1. That designation didn't exist and the MKII came along.

If you really have a true original, it looks like a Fender, because it was! The first Boogie a hot-rodded Fender Princeton.

The back panel was labeled with a Dymo. Are the reissues?
