Best source for celestion speakers ???

Hey gang,

I'm looking to experiment with different speakers in a few of my cabs.
Who is the best source (store, dealer,) for celestion replacement speakers?
we can add tonetubby and others to the list too.

Just looking for the best price for a reliable source.

thanks!

There is a dude selling factory overstock celestions for $36 SHIPPED on ebay. Right now he's selling the Vintage 30 and the Classic Lead 80s in 8 &16 ohms. People have been absolutely raving about them. I just had a CL80 delivered today. $36 shipped. Certainly worth a try. I hear the service has been great and I got mine in just a couple of days. Can't wait to try it out.

Made in the US.

Some absolutely great Celestion clones are the Southbay Ampworks aka Scumbag speakers. They are accurately recreated pre-rola Celestion clones built to spec by Weber for them. A couple of years ago I did a pile of speaker clips with them (should be still on their site). It originally was a blind test we did for The Gear Page site. They are more expensive than standard Celestions but cheaper than their Heritage series. Well worth their money!

Anyone know where to get actual celestions at a cheaper price? I had a website I used for my Alnico Blue and got it for 250 after shipping, but that has since gone out of stock on every celestion speaker. currently looking for a new source to grab a g12h. They had them listed for about 170, sucks to have to pay 220 when i know a better price coudl be available somewhere.

AMS (Amercian Music Supply) .com has a selection w the nice option of a 3 payment monthly plan w no credit check or interest.

I use Carvin vintage load myself. Although I think in the next go round I will go back to the bigger magnet higher wattage speakers. Not so sure the 30 watters are really all that great, just hype and opinion. I want to rig my can way above my amps ability to RMS it allowing for the voice coils to handle much more low end. You cannot really have too much a wattage capable speaker but you for sure can have too little. Despite 4 30s takes 120 watts you can still blow them w low end and heavy push.
